'We Know Something You Don't Know' is DJ Formats 3rd release for the GENUINE label following the underground success of 'Ill Culinary Behaviour' earlier this year and the recent sampladelic sounds of 'B-Boy Code'.

Welcome again to the world of 29 year old Brighton resident Matt Ford, aka DJ Format, a premiere grade beatdigger and collector of precious vinyl. A man dedicated to the pursuit of discovering the most obscure tunes in order to keep his breakbeats forever fresh. This is a habit which is with him every waking moment. When a few years back he was helping Jurassic 5 out, driving them around on their first UK tours, he found two like minded souls in DJs NuMarc and Cut Chemist. As a result the threesome would scour each town they visited for fresh vinyl. Just a tiny little bit in annoyance to the other members of J5.

"We'd be getting them up every morning at 6 am to drive to the next venue just so we could go record shopping before the soundchecks."

Like 'Ill Culinary Behaviour' the new single is another slice of top vocal hip hop action, featuring two members of the aforementioned Jurassic 5; Chali 2na & Akil. The track features deep bouncy bass, stabbing keys and flowing lyrics & rhymes delivered in the inimitable styles of the J5 guests.
