Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
Just Jack: ilikemusic because... I can’t explain why I like music!
Kevin Michael: ilikemusic because... I’ve been singing my entire life. I cannot go without listening to it or singing for a day. I wake up to it, I go to sleep to it, I am music.
KT Tunstall: ilikemusic because... It makes me feel alive!
Del: ilikemusic because... music is life
Stine Richard: ilikemusic because... its the only way I know how to express myself...
Woody: ilikemusic because... it saved my life... Respect.
Peter Cincotti: ilikemusic because... Of what the world would be without it. It’d be a very scary place. I think we’d all be screwed.
Alison, A Fine Frenzy: ilikemusic because... It makes life beautiful.
I was in Bratislava and they were singing all these records as if they grew up with them, and it was just buggin' me out. Like… man, you what…? Wasn't this country like under communist rule just 10 years ago? Just the… the process and how fast, you know, everything is changing. That's incredible to me. The access and how people know the music is…it's unreal.
ILM: Traditionally, a British crowd seems to have a reputation for being a little more polite, I guess is the word…
Jay-Z : I don't know what shows you guys go to! In Japan I've seen that before. Japan is really polite, like it's really quiet before the record. I remember the first time I went to Japan. It was so quiet. I was like "Can you check there are people out there?" I thought we'd bombed. I thought that we didn't sell any tickets. So I look out and there's seriously, and I'm not joking, there's just thousands of people, the place is packed. "I'm like… what's happening?" And they're not speaking to each other, they're just standing, waiting. No-one's speaking. And then I go out, they go crazy, and then the song ends it's like… there's a clap and then… quiet again. But I don't get that in England. It's a rowdy bunch actually. [LAUGHING] Lots of stomping in the stands and all that. A rather different experience!
