'Chain Hang Low' is already a street favourite with its fresh slant on the children's song 'Ears Hang Low'. Sporting a sing-along chorus, clever braggadocio and a block-rocking beat - and accompanied by a must-see video - the track takes nostalgia back to the future.
Jibbs is the first rapper to hail from the infamous South Side of St. Louis where his reputation and career took off hanging out in the studio with his brother, DJ Beats of Da Beatstaz, a long time producer for St. Louis natives Nelly and Chingy. He began free-styling with local and visiting rappers in the Beatstaz studio, soon after claiming "the" coveted freestyle crown for his ferocious rap prowess.
Jibbs began opening up for artists such as Chris Brown, Bow Wow and Young Jeezy and quickly began getting offers from several major labels before signing with Geffen Records, (the home of Snoop Dogg, Common, and Mary J. Blige).
But things could have taken a different turn for the young MC and songwriter. The hard-hitting rapper was once a two-time Golden Glove champion but his love for music and drive for success took him down the path that was closest to his heart.
'Chain Hang Low' is taken from Jibbs' debut album 'Jibbs feat Jibbs'.
