Me 1 - Fingers Crossed

Me 1 - Fingers Crossed

Born in Cardiff, raised in Brooklyn and now residing in the UK, Me 1 began his musical career at the early age of 16 and scored number 1 hits around the world. The son of a half Irish, half Hispanic mother born in Kingston Jamaica and a black Jamaican Pentecostal minister from Port Antonio, Me 1 has always been exposed to an array of sounds, cultures and influences in his life. He has an amazing story to tell and amazing music to spread and not simply as a guy that 'sounds like…' but as himself…as Me 1.

The 'Fingers Crossed' EP represents the antithesis of manufactured popular music today. Me 1 [Eric Martin] has created an EP which is a mixture of straight from the heart soul to politically fuelled lyrics, sublime melodic excerpts and dignifying uplifting songs. The interactive EP includes live snippets/interviews/images/video and introduction by Me1 himself. He is currently writing with The Prodigy and Maxi Priest. The forthcoming album features Maxi Priest, Capleton and Durrty Goodz.

He has already allowed media to swiftly gauge his abilities with the release of his first critically acclaimed album 'As Far As I'm Concerned'. The next EP 'Still Concerned', has had people quickly pinning comparisons to some of our greatest musicians. After a 5 year hiatus he returns to present us with a little piece of his soul. He has been busy writing with Jeff Beck, teaching 'lyric writing theory' at the London Centre of Contemporary Music and gigging around the world. Although it's been a long time coming, fans that have been perched eagerly on the edge of their seats will not be disappointed. Today his inimitable lyrical flow and distinctive musical identity has evolved seamlessly into yet another fresh new musical proposition.

Coming from the first person in the UK to have picked up a guitar only to rap hard hitting conscious lyrics over it, you can imagine that he is ahead of the game. His command and interaction of the audience and understanding of his craft reveals his strengths and innovation that blows all other competition out of the water. So, the launch of this EP is going to include national tour dates across the UK. The first of which is going to be with the legendary De La Soul crew.
