The fourth album from U.S. rapper Rick Ross reads like a who's who of American hip-hop. The eleven-track album finds space to squeeze in contributions from Jay-Z, Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Cee-Lo, Diddy, Ne-Yo, and many more besides. With an intense beef with 50-Cent making many a headline in 2009, the endorsement of such big names will go a long way to bolstering the rapper's reputation, as, indeed will the music itself.

Picking up from where previous album Deeper Than Rap left off, Ross primarily takes his cues from the Biggie Smalls school of gangsta rap. The subject matter of his lyrics - predominantly cars, bitches and bling - may strike many as too mundane or clichéd, but it remains par for the course in Ross' chosen genre, in which he should be counted as one of the foremost contemporary artists. The production on the album is a lesson in smooth melodies and funky basslines, with a couple of more club-worthy moments thrown in for good measure, notably on the Kanye-produced Live Young Die Fast.
