The long player, Snoop's seventh studio release, will be released on his own imprint, Doggy Style, and through his new label home, Geffen Records.
The lead track from the album, 'Drop It Like It's Hot' features vocals from super-NERD Pharrell and is also produced by the Neptunes. The single is already all over US radio reaching an audience of 19 million, making it the biggest rap record currently playing Stateside. 'Drop It…' features a hook that will bury itself in your brain, with Pharrell rapping the first verse over a characteristically beat-driven Neptunes production - complete with a brand new style of beat box. Snoop's last single 'Beautiful' was a rap classic in the making and also featured Pharrell.
Several other tracks on 'R&G' have been produced by the Neptunes with others being handled by Lil' Jon, Jelly Roll and Supafly. As well as producing, Lil' Jon (and Trina) guest on another 'R&G' cut, 'Step Up Ya Game'. Justin Timberlake also features on the album as a guest vocalist.
All of Snoop Dogg's previous albums have been certified platinum (at least) in the US and since the release of 2003's 'Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Bo$$', the West Coast star has appeared as Huggy Bear in 'Starsky & Hutch', had his own TV show with MTV's 'Doggy Fizzle Telefizzle' and guested on 50 Cent's hit single 'P.I.M.P.'.
