The Game’s Up

It's been a long time since the U.S. West Coast hip-hop scene has had a figure head MC, someone who can carry the mantle of NWA, Ice Cube, Eazy E, Dr Dre or Snoop Dogg.

In 2005 The Game is shaping to change all of that.

The new year starts with a clean slate and the West Cost scene has a new great hope in the shape of Jayceon Taylor - AKA. The Game.

Whilst the Compton born rapper comes fresh to the international Hip Hop game, he's already done plenty of time on the LA underground. Having quickly built up a reputation from show stealing appearances rapping on Mix Tapes (the un-rivalled currency of the Hip-Hop street scene) , he was picked up and taken in by one of Hip-Hop's all time greats and NWA founding father, Dr Dre.

As with many of the current crop of Hip Hop's foremost names, The Game has a challenging story to tell of his up-bringing. Raised in a foster home, he showed substantial promise as a 10 year basketball player, but was simultaneously drawn into street corner drug dealing.
