Beck To play Homelands 2005
Beck has confirmed he'll be making his only festival appearance at this year's Homelands Festival. BECK headlines the live arena, alongside The Streets, Roots Manuva, The
Bravery and Mylo.
The programme for Homelands 2005 continues to expand and evolve the dance festival template, with the addition of two world-beating artists: The Human League and The Bravery. Both pioneers in their field, they further extend the boundaries of the dance festival, bringing the sounds of rock, pop and electro to the UK's most innovative, inclusive and forward-thinking festival. Homelands in 2005 is rolling. This is live.
The Human League need no introduction. The most influential electronic band of the last 25 years, their catalogue of smash hits has soundtracked the adventures and fantasies of the disco generation. They laid the blueprint for pop music's love affair with the synthesiser, and the majority of dance music's reigning superstars have acknowledged their heavy debt to the Sheffield trailblazers. The Human League emerged from the crucible of punk in the late-Seventies and combined an infectious pop sensibility with a mastery of evolving music technology. Anyone who hasn't lost it on a dancefloor to 'Don't You Want Me Baby' cannot seriously call themselves a fan of music. This is no comeback - the Human League never went away. And the band bring to Homelands the kind of heritage, excitement and presence that cannot be argued with. They headline Homelands' Arena 5.
