Kate Nash - Made of Bricks
Due to sensational demand, Kate Nash's much-anticipated debut album, 'Made of Bricks', was brought forward from its mid-September release date to Monday 6th August. The last time frenzied fan demand caused a similar rush-release was with the Arctic Monkeys. Their debut album was brought forward by one week and soon became the fastest-selling UK debut album of all time. Such is the phenomenal demand for Kate Nash's 'Made Of Bricks' that it is being brought forward a staggering eight weeks.
In a little under 12 months, Kate has emerged from her humble suburban beginnings and blossomed into a disarmingly sassy, punk-pop princess, telling urban folk tales with charm and witty cynicism. Her songs have won over both young and old; from the legions of fans that have flocked to her MySpace site, to the knowing, wizened old punks who draw comparisons with Kate's poetry to that of John Cooper Clarke.
The intro track to the album is a blend of dance beats and wordplay called Play. It's Kate's mantra for the album. "Music whatever its form," says Kate, "should be fun. People should be allowed to Play."
