Mutya Buena chats to I Like Music
MUTYA: It was amazing. I was very nervous, because obviously he's a legend. But when I got speaking to him he was such a nice guy. Half the time we were joking about and talking about the latest Big Brother series that was on at that time. We grew up in the same places, we went to the same high school. So we were able to talk a bit deeper than 'hi my name is, blah blah' and he was telling me he loves my voice. I grew up listening to him, because my mum's a big Wham fan. I told him that my mum had a Wham video and it had all their songs and videos as well, so we had to sit down and watch them. So I've become a big fan of him and it was a pleasure to work with such a great guy and an amazing singer.
ILM: Please can you describe the Mutya Buena process of making such good music? Lyrics first then melody or vice versa or random?
