Pete Tong chats to I Like Music
We completed it before the season starts, so you are taking a guess. I think the more and more experienced I am at playing Ibiza, (Pure Pacha is in its 5th year now) the more confident I am about the sound and the agenda I want to set. But, lo and behold, every year you find you put things on there that are then becoming hits.
It's funny, last year I put 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' on it, way before anybody ever thought about it, signed it or anything. I was in the right place at the right time and put it on there. But I would say, in the course of time, listening back to that album at the end of last summer and beyond, from my perspective, it was kind of a sore thumb kind of track, because it was so huge, it feels a bit obvious. But that's the way it goes.

Leon Jean-Marie: ilikemusic because... It transcends. It really creates emotion with someone. That feeling it gives you, it goes through boundaries. To create something, it just breaks through all the walls. When you connect with a song, that is it, that is magic isn't it?
O'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!
Sharleen Spiteri: ilikemusic because... it takes me to places that life can't
dawn Leonetti: ilikemusic because... it makes me spin, giggle and bubble up - kinda my own Rice Crispies cereal ("snap, crackle, pop") in the audio form...
Kano: ilikemusic because... It brings people together. It makes people smile and dance, it makes people happy. I like the energy it gives off.
