Pete Tong chats to I Like Music
This year I ended up putting Kleerup on it with Robyn, which I ended up mixing with Dave Spoon, and that looks like it'll be a very big hit; not as big as Fedde Le Grande… although I think it'll be a bit more durable and won't be 'Oh here comes the hit' kind of thing. But I'm pleased with this year's Pure Pacha track list.
I put Mark Ronson on it and the record company were very fussy about who they let that out to, but, because I knew Mark, I managed to convince them. And I wanted it on there because I like Mark. He played the club and I really like Daniel Merriweather's voice, and I thought that'll be a sound that nobody will ever tire of. I didn't use much of it, but I wish I'd used more of it, because actually, in the club, I'm surprised how popular that track is still, even though it's been and gone as a hit record. It seems to have been a moment in the club, so I could have used more of it than I ended up doing.
