Mylo Chats To ilikemusic.com

He's been likened to LCD Soundsystem and dubbed as 'Scotland's answer to Royksopp' while 2 Many DJs play his records twice in the same set.

From the humble beginnings of a ltd edition 7" single back in November 2002, Mylo's rise to prominence has been meteoric. Real name, Myles Macinnes, created one of the electronica favourite albums in 2004 with debut, Destroy Rock & Roll. Mylo ain't just a sonic guru either. Born and raised on The Isle of Skye, Mylo has a degree in English from Oxford University and studied psychology at Los Angeles UCLA.

Back at home, Mylo began using his ProTools and Mac G4 tp create his 80s inspired music and, subsequently in 2002 Mylo won the Diesel-U-Muisc award. 2003 saw him performing a session on Lamacq Live, remixing the Sugababes, Elton John, Master H and label mate Linus. It saw his singles 'Wolves of Miami' and 'Paris 400' all over the specialist shows at Radio One and in the dj boxes of everyone from Pete Tong to Erol Alkan.

Mylo turned down offers from several labels to set up his own Breast Fed Recordings imprint, releasing Destroy Rock & Roll in April 2004, including recent singles, "Drop The Pressure", and "In My Arms".

  2. JunJun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!
  3. Kat VipersKat Vipers: ilikemusic because... There's not many other things to like.
  4. simon f bakersimon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
