Proud Mary - Love and Light

After a seemingly endless wait, created in part by the demise of distributor 3MV, Proud Mary at last release their second album, Love & Light on September 6th.

Following a 20-date UK tour through April and May, various May Balls at colleges all over the south, plus memorable appearances at the Isle of Wight festival and Guilfest the band cemented their position as one of the best live bands in the country at two stadium shows in June, in Stoke and Hull supporting Bryan Adams in front of 70,000 people, resulting in the band's website crashing with the sheer volume of new visitors.

The news that (ex-Smiths) Andy Rourke, who has been playing live with the band throughout the year, has joined the band on a permanent basis only increased the fans' excitement and anticipation for the album (which will initially be released as a limited edition digi-pack).

The album perfectly captures the band on top form, delivering a set of blues- and Americana-influenced rock. Highlights include HATS OFF!, THE BLUES plus MEXICO & STAND BY MY WOMAN (both of which feature the playing of Andy Rourke) and the title track which in time will prove to be an absolute classic.
