'Taste You'. It is released on 27th Sept, and follows the Top 40 success of Auf der Maur's previous singles 'Followed The Waves' and 'Real A Lie', and the debut album 'Auf der Maur'.
2004 has been the year that Melissa Auf der Maur stepped out of the shadows of her illustrious past as a member of two of the most influential and popular bands of the '90s (Hole / Smashing Pumpkins) and established herself as a talented artist in her own right.
The success she has enjoyed in the UK has been mirrored across Europe and the US with numerous magazines, radio stations, TV shows and audiences falling to her charms, and rocking out to Auf der Maur's live shows. She's appeared on the likes of David Letterman and Jay Leno in the States, played live to 500,000 people in Rome on a show that was televised to millions of viewers, toured with the likes of A Perfect Circle and The Offspring and played a string of high-profile headline shows over the course of the year.
Auf der Maur are currently touring America with The Cure and return to these shores for the Reading & Leeds Festival, where they appear on the Radio 1 Evening Session stage. Auf der Maur then play a headline show at Nottingham Rescue Rooms on Aug 30th and are special guests of the Von Bondies at the London Astoria on Aug 31St
'Taste You' is released on Sept 27th on EMI Records in two formats:
Coloured 7" vinyl - b/w 'You Could Ice Skate To This'
CD - b/w 'You Could Ice Skate To This', 'Sergeant Politeness', 'Taste You' (video)
