  • simon f bakersimon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.

The Trip created by Snow Patrol

Snow Patrol are making available as a free download their live version of the Undertones' Teenage Kicks.

The track is available at the band's website, www.snowpatrol.net as a "gift... in memory of John Peel."

The band says they "never had the honour of a Peel session or meeting him," but they "greatly admired" the BBC Radio 1 DJ who died last week aged 65 from a heart attack while on a working holiday in Peru.

The band said, "He (Peel) was responsible for saving Radio 1 from chart hell and he will be sorely missed."

The band's version of Teenage Kicks, Peel's favourite record, was recorded at their appearance at the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, earlier this year.

The band release their Live At Somerset House DVD on November 22. The DVD includes the band's performance this summer at the London venue with songs such as Spitting Games, Run and their

latest single How To Be Dead. The DVD also includes a Japanese tour diary, film from their US tour and several of the band's videos.

Snow Patrol kick off a UK and Irish tour with two concerts at Belfast's Ulster Hall on November 22 and 23. The tour includes concerts in Dublin, Birmingham, London's Carling Brixton Academy, Southampton, Manchester and Glasgow.page << 1 2 3 4 5 >>
