  • Ellen, Los CampesinosEllen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
  • shantelshantel: ilikemusic because... it is a passion and a hobbie to when i sing and dance i do it from my soul
  • simon f bakersimon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
  • dawn Leonettidawn Leonetti: ilikemusic because... it makes me spin, giggle and bubble up - kinda my own Rice Crispies cereal ("snap, crackle, pop") in the audio form...
  • Seaney DevereuxSeaney Devereux: ilikemusic because... there's a song for every emotion and music creates debate and debate is what brings us together, it breaks down the walls that seperate sterotypes and it's always involved in your favourite youth memories.

Athlete - Half Light

It's not been a bad start to 2005 for Athlete. Stepping in to the spring the band have a number 1 platinum album, 'Tourist', have played two sold out tours in the UK and by the end of April will have played to nearly 20,000 fans in the space of four months in London alone.

'Halflight', follows the release of the no.4 charting single 'Wires' and is the perfect accompaniment to the start of spring; sunny, warm and uplifting. The single will be available on 2 track cd and Maxi cd enhanced with the video and 7" picture disk. Formats include two brand new tracks and 'Wires' taken from the Jo Whiley Maida Vale session.

Athlete clearly have an affect on people. At their live shows it is hard not to notice how utterly devoted their fans are and the euphoric football terrace sing alongs. Athlete fans aren't afraid of having a good time.

"This is a fine show with a celebratory feel and anyone needing a dash of summer in their lives should catch this band where they can" Observer

" On a cold miserable Scotch night they succeed in bringing genuinely warm smiles to the faces of their fans and any band that affects people so much deserves to endure" Independent

"Now Athlete have understood the importance of being earnest 2005 will be theirs" Evening Standard

"By the time the summer comes it could be that most everyone in the country knows an Athlete song" NME
