Athlete

Athlete will release new single 'Wires' on January 17th. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming second album out on January 31st 2005. The album entitled 'Tourist' is the follow up to the band's debut album release 'Vehicles and Animals' which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize 2003 and has now sold 250,000 copies to date.

The single is already a Record of the Week on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show and Christian O'Connell's XFM breakfast show six weeks pre release.

Athlete - In Store PA

Athlete will be performing an exclusive PA at Virgin Megastore, Oxford Street on Tuesday 18th January. This is the day after the release of their acclaimed comeback single 'Wires', and the boys will also be signing copies of the single after their performance. Showtime is 6pm.

Athlete will do a live tour around the release of 'Tourist'. Their last UK tour ended with an explosive show at Brixton Academy. Recently, new songs were showcased on the main stage at this years V2004 festival including 'Wires' which received a rapturous reception.
