Hot Chocolate Boy is the band's first single under the new name Boy of Girl and marks a progression from their earlier two singles released under the Moon Unit moniker. Hot Chocolate Boy is a pop song about bedtime rituals and joy of sharing sleep with someone you love.

The single is accompanied by Boy of Girl's first ever music video, directed by Jessica Lux (Roots Manuva), and is inspired by the classic look of the early Smiths, Beat Happening's Calvin Johnston and the punk lust teen spirit that defines the idylic time in a young music fan's life when they hang out all night with their crush, listening to their favourite songs.

Hot Chocolate Boy with b-side Beautiful Face available on 7" vinyl and digital download, released on Off The Uncertain Button on 2nd November 2009.
