Coldplay - Speed Of Sound
"Fans want to be able to buy the music they hear on the radio instantly and the beauty of digital is that we can now deliver that", said Tony Wadsworth, chairman and CEO of EMI Music UK & Ireland. "This early success of 'Speed of Sound' across the world demonstrates that there is an incredible worldwide anticipation for new Coldplay music."
Following the release of 'X&Y', Coldplay will embark on their biggest world tour yet, beginning with dates in Europe, the UK and Ireland, including a headline appearance at this year's Glastonbury festival. Plans are also underway for a 40-city North American summer tour.
Since forming in London in 1998, Coldplay - Guy Berryman (bass), Jonny Buckland (lead guitar), Will Champion (drums) and Chris Martin (vocals, guitar, keyboards) - have won four Brits and four Grammy awards, including the prestigious Record of the Year award for 'Clocks.' The band's two previous releases, Parachutes (2000) and A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), have together sold around 17 million copies worldwide.page << 1 2 >>
