Delays - Lost Tunes

To mark the launch of Universal Music's groundbreaking Lost Tunes (www.losttunes.com) online download store dedicated to exclusives, rarities and overlooked classics, Fiction Records' Delays have recorded their four favourite lost tunes, which was released exclusively via the site on Monday 6th October 2008.

Delays, who released their acclaimed Everything's The Rush LP in May, headed to Rockfield studios in Wales to record their favourite songs from the vaults. "For us it's always been about songs and to get to reinterpret the music that has inspired us is a massive thrill," says Greg. "The Lost Tunes catalogue is so rich it was hard to know where to start but we feel we've found some real gems whilst 'lost' in the vaults."

Delays emerged with striking new versions of the tracks - their Nico cover These Days is beautiful and literally drenched in Delays' trademark harmonies. Christine by The House of Love, Creedence Clearwater Revival's Bad Moon Rising and The Go-Go's Tonight have also been lovingly reinterpreted through the minds and fingers of the Southampton quartet. The EP is completed by a demo of Delays' original Keep It Simple from their LP Everything's The Rush.

This release will coincide with another major Lost Tunes exclusive, a new collection of previously-unreleased material from The La's - eight rare recordings including the John Leckie and Steve Lilywhite mixes of Come In Out Come Out and John Leckie and the Bob Andrew mix of Way Out.
