Fight Like Apes - Jake Summers
Following the success of Lend Me Your Face, the mighty Fight Like Apes forge ahead with their new single - Jake Summers.
Having played at Glastonbury, T In The Park, Leeds / Reading, Green Man, Summer Sundae, Hydro Connect and Offset - to name but a few - Fight Like Apes have gnawed their way into the addled consciousness of the Great British Festival Goer this summer. Their take-no- prisoners approach to live performance, belting out obnoxious pop anthems while beating seven bells out of their gear, the stage and indeed, on occasion, each other; has created converts from Kinross to Clapham Common.
Jake Summers is a homage to Jay Anthony Franke's bad boy rock 'n' roller from 90's cult TV show California Dreams - a key touchstone on Planet FLApe where naff telly shows are lionised alongside Yo La Tengo, Pavement, kung fu, kebabs and ice cream. Also included on the single are two new tracks - Corey Pop and Snore Bore Whore (Spherical Mix).
The single will be released on CD single, limited edition blue vinyl in a hand stamped sleeve and download on October 20th on Model Citizen Records through PIAS UK.

Fight Like Apes - Jake Summers

Kevin Michael: ilikemusic because... I’ve been singing my entire life. I cannot go without listening to it or singing for a day. I wake up to it, I go to sleep to it, I am music.
Cesar Sangwa: ilikemusic because... it's there for me through thick and thin, highs and lows. I think about it when I wake up, and when I close my eyes to sleep. I like music because I'm in love with it!
Desyn Masiello: ilikemusic because... It saved my life!
Omid16B: ilikemusic because... It makes me feel whole and makes me feel like I have my feet on the ground. It makes me feel love again and reminds me of what we are. It allows me to express myself.
James Blunt: ilikemusic because... conversation is so limited. It’s the best form of expression we have.
simon f baker: ilikemusic because... you can transcend the confines of the material world with it, it's probably better than shagging in fact. There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
Rasmus, Alphabeat: ilikemusic because... It makes me happy and it makes me dance around and sometimes it makes me a bit emotional. It encompasses all the emotions from happiness to sadness and it’s fun to play too.
Alicia Keys: ilikemusic because... it makes you feel!
