Guillemots - Trains To Brazil

The "most remarkable band in Britain" release their new single, Trains To Brazil, on September 11th.

Infusing British music with a lush, unique musical vision and bright, charismatic snap, Guillemots follow their impressive Mercury Music Prize nomination with the gloriously eccentric new single 'Trains To Brazil' on Polydor Records, September 11th.

Written and produced by lead singer Fyfe Dangerfield, 'Trains To Brazil' ambitiously combines a soulful double-tracked pop vocal with thunderous Motown drums and an 18-piece brass section. Superlative, relentlessly alluring and definitive of the band's purring artistic streak, it brims with the sheer pop excellence they're renowned for.

"I think 'Trains To Brazil' is primarily about appreciating life, as much as a song can be about anything," says Fyfe. "There's enough atrocities in the world each day to make it clear that fundamentally, we're all very lucky to be here at all. And it's got sleighbells in it. So really it's a we're-not-dead-yet Christmas Carol."

Available on CD and two 7" vinyls, each single format boasts exclusive extra tracks recorded in recent weeks. The strikingly eminent video, directed by Nia Baughan, is quintessential, absolute Guillemots to the core.
