Taio Cruz: ilikemusic because... It’s my life and it’s the air that I breathe. It calms me when I’m feeling uptight and it’s there for me when I want to party if I want to listen to something up tempo, it’s just amazing in any situation. That’s why I like music!
Aaron: ilikemusic because... like Weedeater Deluxe!
Sarah Christine: ilikemusic because... Music is like a puzzle. (A phrase generously loaned by acclaimed British poet Matthew Welton). Still operating with their usual punk-rock ethic and still proudly flying the flag for British DIY.
Hot Club are now self producing and recording themselves in their Liverpool rehearsal space. Moshi Moshi will be taking care of the release which is available on both download and a super-limited hand-numbered 10" vinyl.
Paul, Matthew and Alasdair first entered our musical consciousness with their debut album Drop It 'til It Pops in October 2006. This was followed by Live at Dead Lake in June 2008. Their skewiff art-punk début was bursting with a feverish energy and, combined with near constant touring, won them a healthy fan base. This gruelling schedule led straight up to recording their second album with Chicago producer Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine, Ugly Cassanova, Sea and Cake, Chin Up Chin Up). The results were equally as engaging as their début efforts and steered the band's art-punk sound into a calmer, more melancholic direction, garnering further critical acclaim.
