Infadels - Love Like Semtex
A selection of remixers have been lined up by PIAS / Wall Of Sound including Headman, Metronomy and West London Deep. Switzerland's Headman (Relish, Gomma Records aka Manhead) who's recently remixed Royksopp, Franz Ferdinand, Cut Copy and Annie stays close to the original arrangement but beefs up the drums, adding a driving analogue bassline turning 'Semtex' into a dance-floor stomper.
Next up hotly tipped act Metronomy (Gorillaz, Franz Ferdinand) who transform 'Love Like Semtex' into indie pop folktronica with accordions and added vocals giving the song an inspired makeover. Finally the West London Deep remix (Moby, Royksopp, Bent) delivers a track for the clubs that gives a nod to acid house - deep, dirty and twisted with a punky edge, exclusive to the promo vinyl and download only.
The release package comes with an exclusive live recording of the band's live encore and much requested, 'Brandon Vegas (I like your head)' from the band's recent NME night at the London Astoria. The track was originally featured on the very first limited edition 12' of 'Leave Your Body' which is now deleted. 'Brandon Vegas (I like your head)' was immediately picked up by John Peel.
In the past year the Infadels made a giant leap from having a cult London following to touring relentlessly and finishing a glorious 2005 on Hard Fi's UK live dates. The global music online community and European festivals such as 'Les Inrocks - France, 'Benicassim' - Spain, 'Lowlands' - Holland has help raise the band's profile through the roof. The band is currently on a 34 date European tour that includes exclusive gig for MTV in Holland as well as appearing on high profile TV shows such as France's prestigious 'Album De La Semaine' for Canal + and German MTV 'Sarah Kuttner' show.
The band's schedule is non stop from here through to release including playing gigs in LA, San Fran and the legendary Coachella Festival - not bad for a band still to sign a US deal!page << 1 2 >>
