Release date: 12 December 2005
Label: On the Fiddle Recordings/Eagle-Rock
B-sides: "When Love Runs Out Of Time"
"Last Man Alive" is the lead track and second single from the new studio album "Truth and Lies", produced by Mark Wallis (U2, Travis, Go-Betweens, Alabama 3) and Dave Ruffy (Ex-Ruts drummer). The song, now a firm live favourite, hears the Levellers at full tilt playing an upbeat tune with a catchy chorus. WATCH THE VIDEO here
Jon Sevink's violin underscores & punctuates Mark Chadwick's distinctive vocals, giving the band their trademark sound. The pounding drums and distorted, compressed guitar combine with the 'wall of sound' production to give "Last Man Alive" a sense of passion and urgency. "Truth and Lies" album reviews have consistently compared "Last Man Alive" to Green Day and U2, not a bad place to be.
