"Scarecrows takes three episodes in Syd Barrett's life and reflects on his gradual removal from a normal state of reality. Innocent at first, and then darker. He is a massive influence on the Mystery Jets and we wrote and recorded this song the day after he died. Lyrically it's emotional and a bit complex like Syd, but the beauty of the song is the musical treatment which is catchy and uplifting." The Mystery Jets
The band started the year on the NME Awards Tour alongside the Arctic Monkeys and Maximo Park and in May headed out across the UK on a sold out headline tour. The band also played Reading and Leeds festival and Bestival.
Making Dens, recorded by producer du jour James Ford on Eel Pie Island, received rave reviews in the nations press described as 'a refreshing and genuinely oddball treat' by the Daily Telegraph. The Independent named it 'the most refreshing debut of the year' and Uncut described the band as 'purveyors of a romantic English Pop in the lineage of The Smiths and The Teardrop Explodes'

Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.
Jo Whiley: ilikemusic because... It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.
fiorella: me gusta la musica porque es super
Steff, Webmaster Musebr.com: ilikemusic because... the shows are very good, we make friends, we jump, and everybody scream so loud, and for a moment we forget all the problems of the world!
