Reverend And The Makers - He Said He Loved Me / The State Of Things

Following the huge success of their debut single 'Heavyweight Champion Of The World' - a Top 10 mainstay and summer dancefloor anthem - Sheffield's Reverend And The Makers continue their march to glory with the release of a new single and new UK live dates.

Already a firm live favourite amongst Jon McClure's rapidly expanding congregation, 'He Said He Loved Me' is an infectious electro-pop duet with Makers keyboardist Laura Manuel, with a deceptively soft coating that hides a sad, all too familiar story of teenage loss.

The single is backed with exclusive B-sides 'God Is In The TV' - a revamped version of a song from McClure's time as frontman of the band 1984 - and another Reverend live favourite since time in 'You Get So Alone Sometimes It Just Makes Sense'.

The release caps off a summer that's already seen the band storm T In The Park & Glastonbury (if you were there braving the mud, you can't have failed to have witnessed at least one of the band's raucous sets), spend seven weeks in the UK Top 20 and smash the opening night at Manumission with the Reverend Soundsystem in Ibiza in June, where they returned as a band at the beginning of September for one of the clubs infamous Ibiza Rocks nights.
