Skins The Soundrack

The drug-fuelled parties, the drinking, smoking, shagging, bad language - welcome to the world of Skins: the provocative teen drama which focuses on a group of mates from Bristol. Having built up a cult following when it was shown on E4 earlier this year - with an in-your-face attitude and snappy dialogue - the soundtrack to their lives is finally here.

Skins: The Soundtrack is out now, released September 10 through Fascination Records.

Bursting with killer tunes, like Bloc Party's 'Positive Tension' and Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs 'Date With The Night' and dripping with heavy beats such as Roots Manuva 'Witness The Fitness' and Tricky's 'Hell Around The Corner', the 19-track album is a fusion of talent.

Of course the Skins soundtrack would not be complete without the signature tune, Gossip's 'Standing In The Way of Control', with its thumping drums and catchy hook. This track alone sums up Skins - teens living it up and having a good time. The closing track on the album 'Wild World' is also of note as it is sung by cast member Mike Bailey who plays lovelorn Sid, the guy who can't lose his virginity. The song is a cover of the classic Cat Stevens track, and re-entered the Top 40 earlier this year on the back of it being sung on the show.
