It is taken from their debut album, Another City, Another Sorry.
Arriving hot on the heels of their eagerly awaited debut album, The Answering Machine have enjoyed a whirlwind 6 months that has underlined their status as one of the UK's foremost indie-pop bands.
Since completing work on their first long-player with producer Dave Eringa, the band have toured relentlessly, gracing stages across the UK with Ra Ra Riot, Casio Kids, Bombay Bicycle Club, Twisted Wheel and concluding with a string of dates as main support to Manic Street Preachers at the Welsh trio's own request. When time allowed, The Answering Machine jetted out to America for headline shows in New York City and Los Angeles.
Between one tour and the next, The Answering Machine vocally supported National Record Store day (editing their own online webzine/blog with support from The Futureheads and Joy Formidable) and settled down to plot some live dates at British youth hostels in support of the album's release.
With the summer festivals looming, the band's ascendancy is very much set to soar further still.
Oklahoma is a long-standing favourite, and the song that first introduced The Answering Machine ("Genius" - NME) with its fizzing, indie-disco-friendly nagging chorus and sugar-sweet melodies.
