The Rifles - I Could Never Lie and 2008 Tour
October 13th 2008 will see the release of The Rifles' as yet to be titled second album. Just one month later, on November 21st the band will headline Brixton Academy after a mammoth 30 date UK tour.
In order to reward the bands famously incendiary fan base, a commemorative 7" gatefold vinyl containing I Could Never Lie will be given away to the first 2000 people who buy tickets for the epic homecoming show at Brixton. The second 7" completing the gatefold will be the first chart eligible single out September.
However, for all the followers of The Rifles, heart wrenching melodies, rollicking guitars and irresistible laddish indie decadence. A further 2000 copies of I Could Never Lie a tale of suburban love, narrated by poetic beer soaked romanticism, "Why can't she just see what's in my eyes, all that I try to hide, I could never lie"
are available from the 21st July.
The Rifles' 2006 debut album No Love Lost yielded 4 top 40 singles, boundless superlatives from Brit
Pop fan boys (Graham Coxon) and made them Soccer AM's house band. Even the Mod-father himself Paul Weller doffed his cap to them by joining them onstage at The Kentish Town Forum.
