them:youth - Halo

Following the release of their acclaimed debut single Bow & Arrows on Another Music=Another Kitchen Records, earlier this year; West London five piece, them:youth return with their second single Halo on celebrated independent Dirty Boots Records, available from 21st September 2009.

Breathing fresh life into the word 'anthem', Halo is a commanding and uplifting call to arms addressing the constant struggle for wanting more out of life. With an undeniable, rousing and infectious chorus, audiences will be singing long after the band exit the stage.

Echoing the driven sound and energy of the likes of New Order, Primal Scream and Underworld; 'Halo' began life as a heavy dance number with direct inspiration drawn from the likes of DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin and the more guitar based sounds of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Written by lead singer Mark Buckle and lead guitarist and vocalist Ilan Hartogh, further influences came courtesy of The Clash and Rolling Stones, attributing to the distinctive keys that can be heard throughout the track.

Defining the very essence and ethos of them:youth, Halo has one foot firmly on the dance floor and the other on the festival stage.
