We Fell To Earth - The Double

We Fell To Earth are to release their debut single, The Double, taken from their self-titled debut album. Both are available physically and digitally from July 13th 2009 through In Stereo Records.

We Fell To Earth is Richard File, formerly of UNKLE and Wendy Rae, who has previously collaborated with Queens Of The Stone Age. File had replaced DJ Shadow as one-half of the visionary intergalactic outfit UNKLE and was busy collaborating with Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and producer Chris Goss on War Stories when he first crossed paths with Rae in the desert. Wendy Rae had played bass for the earthlings? and her voice had graced albums by artists such as QOTSA and Mark Lanegan.

In the UK and Eire, We Fell To Earth's record is being distributed by Essential Music and Marketing who have recently scored success with The Prodigy and Airborne Toxic Event.

The Double is a darkly brilliant single, full of brooding atmosphere and a driving beat that's as much about the persistent bass and guitar as it is the staccato percussion, and as the vocals swirl around the music, the whole thing really does sound like something that recently fell to earth

The band can be seen performing The Double at a gig earlier this year at London's ICA on their website, www.wefelltoearth.com

The Double might be familiar to fans of Gossip Girl, as the hit US drama show has already used The Double on its soundtrack. The Double follows the success of their recent EP, where the song Lights Out received extensive support at specialist UK radio, in press and online

UK fans of We Fell To Earth can catch the duo on July 8th 2009 at 93 Feet East, London. The band will also be making their debut festival appearances at Electric Picnic (4-6 Sept, Co. Laois, Eire) and Bestival (11-13 Sept, Isle Of Wight), and these dates come after they recently supported Patrick Wolf.
