Ali Campbell from UB40 chats to I Like Music
Now, you've got dub and reggae everywhere around the world. Austria, Germany, home grown Dub, you've got Seed and you've got Gentlemen from Germany who are really respected in Jamaica. There are as probably more white exponents of reggae now than there are black, which makes me laugh after going through all that "White reggae band" crap that they used to say. I didn't mind that because I am white, but the black half of the band really got pissed off with that. But we don't get those comments any more because lots of white people make reggae. Just because we were the first multi-racial reggae band we helped to change things and to popularise dub.

ALI: Abso-f***ing-lutely! That's why you were nominated for the Best Music Magazine, because you're all about the music.
ILM: Please finish this sentence: I Like Music because…
ALI: I like music because… it's supposed to bring people bring together.
