Alison Moyet chats to I Like Music

Alison Moyet's brand new album, The Turn is her first collection of original recordings in five years, a work of surprising variety and exceptional depth - drawn together by that voice. This marks a new chapter in the career of an artist who has captivated us for 25 years, selling in excess of 20 million records and winning fervent support.

I Like Music caught up with ALISON MOYET to talk about The Turn, working with Dawn French on a stage play, the music industry today and Yazoo.

ILM: Your new album, The Turn is out on October 15th. Which track did you have the most fun making/was the most enjoyable to record?

ALISON: I think it was probably 'Fire'. This was a track where we recorded the vocal and guitar together. We had no click running so were able to just feel it. We edited for the guitar pass and then I ad-libbed the backing vocals. It was quick mind-to-tape stuff (well, computer actually) and not pre though out. Always a rewarding way to work.
