Angelis chat to I Like Music
Last year Simon Cowell launched a nationwide search to find the best fresh young choral vocalists to create a new classical pop sound, and the six he found released their debut album on November 6th 2006.
Now 'Angelis' are taking the classical pop world by storm Sam Adams Nye (14), Natalie Grace Chua (13), Camilla Seale (12), Moray West (11), Amy Dow (11) and Joe Martin (11) each have a remarkable talent. Sam Adams Nye, is winner of BBC Radio 2's Young Chorister Of The Year 2005, Ex-Little Miss Universe' and award winning songwriter, Natalie, recently appeared in the West End in 'The King & I'. Camilla is a flute prodigy and has performed before HRH the Queen. Moray has toured extensively in various choirs and performed as a soloist with the Scottish Opera Orchestra. Amy has been in Oliver and Bugsy Balone and performed since the age of five. Joe has a Grade 8 Singing certificate with distinction and played the lead in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in a recent production.
Not your average batch of young teens/teens-to-be.
I Like Music caught up with Sam Adams Nye to talk about singing in the Proms at The Royal Albert Hall, working with Simon Cowell and Steve Mac, and to find out more about Angelis's debut album.
