ILM: What would be your advice to anyone wanting to get involved in the music industry?
Bashy: If music is generally your passion then get involved. Don't be in it for the fame or for the money. If you wanna perform then perform. Make people see you as an artist with something special. Get out there. Voice an opinion. Music is not the only way to express yourself. There's writing, there's acting, there's poetry. There are so many ways you can explore it.
ILM: What do you look forward to the most about playing live?
Bashy: When you're in the studio, you're making songs, listening to them and you understand the emotion but you don't see the listeners reaction. When you're out live, it's just like you can really explain. I mean, before the song's even started in some cases. You can get people's hands up, you can jump in the crowd, you can throw out a t-shirt. You can really interact with the people that have been listening to you. Plus you can try and get some new supporters.
ILM: Out of all the shows you've played which have been the most memorable?
Bashy: There's been so many! I played at Glastonbury last year. I was nervous. After the whole Jay-Z thing and everything Noel Gallagher said I was thinking 'Oh, they really don't want hip hop here.' I thought a lot of other people would be feeling the same but when I was there I got up on stage and everyone seemed to just know who I was. I'm always surprised when that happens, sometimes I don't even understand it! page << 1 2 3 4 5 >>
