ILM: Your kitchen diaries thing has been viewed on YouTube about a gazillion times! What is your favourite recipe to cook or to have cooked for you?
Beardyman: I don't know?!.....er.....curry. I like curry.
ILM: I saw you on Lily Allen and friends the other day. How was that for you?
Beardyman: I don't know. Erm...it was quite an experience. It was a bit weird for me because it was my first big TV interview...actually the interview was better than the performance but they cut most of it out because she was grabbing Paddy McGuinnes drink and downing his red wine half way through questions.
It was a really weird experience. They pigeon holed me as this internet sensation when actually I've been playing live gigs for ages. Plus they didn't mention the fact I was beatbox champion. I think it was because that was the slot for the show and they wanted to make out that I was on the same level as the guy who did 'Chocolate Rain' when in actual fact I have quite a successful career that has taken off quite well, but they didn't want to mention it. So, all in all it wasn't a great experience. Also they didn't let me do what I wanted to do. I had this whole thing with guitars and beatboxing and they were like "We want a standard beatbox, we don't want to inspire people too much" and in the interview they said "Careful what you say to Lily, because she isn't a TV presenter.' And I'm like...why did you give her her own show then? So I ended up being really polite to her and then they made what I did less good than it was meant to be.
