Bel's Boys chat to I Like Music

EOIN: It's really tough. Before this I'd been playing in local bands for three years previous to this. I know how tough it is, because I've seen so many amazing bands who are being brushed over, playing small venues and not getting the recognition they deserve. But you need to stick at it. My sister's boyfriend he used to play about in Ireland and they took the plunge and moved to London to go all out for the band and they're doing really well over here. If you really enjoy music just go for it, at least you can say you tried then, even if it doesn't work out.

ILM: Your music is guitar driven pop which others write but you guys play incredibly well. When did you first start playing instruments?

EOIN: I've been playing the drums for five years. It started off playing percussion and stuff in orchestras around Northern Ireland. Then I went to see Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat the musical, and I was sat by the orchestra, and the drums were right beside me. I was about 12 at the time, and I just watched the drummer all the time, and thought I'd love to be able to do that, so I cracked on with playing the drums after that.
