Bomb The Bass Chats To ilikemusic
With the debut Bomb The Bass single Beat Dis released in 1987, Tim Simenon went on to play an integral part in the rise of DJ culture. After a string of sets, album and EP releases Tim settled into his work as a producer in the mid nineties, working with the likes of Bjork, David Bowie and Depeche Mode. He set up his own record label, Electric Tones, in 2000, based in Amsterdam, which gave him a chance to release the music he liked and work on the other side of the counter.
Despite the rumours that Bomb The Bass was no more, Tim recently returned with a full album release - Future Chaos. The album is an impressive mix of tunes, proving that Simenon still has the magic touch. ilikemusic caught up with Tim to chat about the new album and how fresh it sounds rinsing out of the speakers, how Herbie Hancock changed his life and his on-going love affair with the minimoog.
"I Like Music because… it makes me happy." TIM SIMENON, BOMB THE BASS
