ILM: Can you describe the Bomb The Bass process of writing and recording music?
Tim: The sketches are always very basic. I try to leave it as open as possible so that the backing track I send to the singer or the band has enough room for them to add their thing to it. I think that is really important. At the same time there has to be enough toneality in it for them to be inspired to sing a new top line to it, or add an instrument on top of that. Once I get that back, that is when the production process starts. In terms of Future Chaos, I had tracks that I had got back from '98 and ones from the last year or so. The idea was to make them all sound as if they had been recorded in one session. That is what gels the whole album together. The Mini-Moog was a key factor of that.
