Carl Cox chats to I Like Music
So I thought well, I'll just go along and play my thing and whoever's left will come and enjoy it. And I ended up with 20,000 people in my tent which only holds 8,000 people; it was unbelievable how it went. Every single record I played they were screaming and jumping, clapping and going mental. So that gig launched the birth of Carl Cox plays records, because I rose to the occasion because of what I'm about as a DJ and also what it stands for. I'm really pleased by playing Glastonbury purely based on my self-esteem and what I could bring to the table. So I was really happy about that.
ILM: You're working on your third artist album. Can you describe its vibe? Playing other people's music as a DJ it must be enjoyable making and playing artist albums where music has been composed and created by YOU?
