Carl Cox chats to I Like Music
This record was a special record for me of course, based on what it's done for me and for everyone who got to listen to that track. It's like a brand new take on something that was a pinnacle of dance music when this came out, made by a DJ, which was me, which in the end stood the test of time.
And now there's a chance for the new generation to hear something that I did many years ago; and these guys are at the forefront of what's going on today so I'm really happy that they took the opportunity to do something conceptual with this track.
ILM: On April 10th and 11th 2008, you're playing your first UK club date in three years at HEAVEN for which you've handpicked the brilliant and eclectic line-up and kept ticket prices low too. Nice one. Can you describe what fans can expect?
CARL COX: Because I've not been around for quite a while, people decided that they really want to make the most of this night. When I first did Heaven the first time round, as many people as we had inside, we had that many again outside the club. That's what led us to do two nights instead of one, so everyone can benefit from this. I don't even know the next time I'll be back into London. So it's very special for me to come in this time and do what I do.

lolo: ilikemusic because... music is where some people display affection, show emotions and actually showing off who they are and their thinking. it is special unlike anything cos it goes out and never comes in back but in others.
Kano: ilikemusic because... It brings people together. It makes people smile and dance, it makes people happy. I like the energy it gives off.
Ciarran, The Feeling: ilikemusic because... I find it constantly inspiring and it’s a joy to listen to and a joy to play; it really is a huge part of my life.
MARS: ilikemusic because... tom kelly is a great producer and Mark Angelo Studios in London is the best place to record your record!
Darren: ilikemusic because... It makes me dance like a motherf**ker
O'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!
Alison, A Fine Frenzy: ilikemusic because... It makes life beautiful.
Lupe Fiasco: ilikemusic because... It gives me a chance to escape and reach people I wouldn’t ordinarily be able to reach. And without music the world would be kinda quiet.
Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
