Carl Cox chats to I Like Music
It's probably one of the only surviving clubs of yesteryear based on what it was set up to do anyway, for people to have the best time possible on that dancefloor. But also, to complement what I believe to be a good night out for London, to also bring out all my friends… James Lavelle, Michel de Hey, Yousef and Pendulum, Meat Katie, Ashley Beedle… these guys, I adore their music. I want people to walk through the door and have the choice of hearing great music no matter whether I'm playing or not. So that's the idea… we're all equal so that's why it's Carl Cox and Friends because I've asked a bunch of mates to come and play a bunch of records really.
ILM: You've just finished a tour of Australia, culminating in the Big Day Out Festival and are off to Miami for the Winter Music Conference and play Ultrafest and headline the SW4 Festival on Clapham Common in August - what for you makes a great festival? And, what has been the maddest festival moment for you?
