Colin MacIntyre Chats To ilikemusic

ILM: What is one of the best gigs you have ever been to?

Colin: I think I'll say one that I was on the bill for, and watched it from the side of the stage: The Strokes at the Nottingham Social, 2001 - I was supporting them for their first UK tour. Otherwise, Brian Wilson at the South Bank performing Pet Sounds was pretty amazing. Actually, scrap all that - U2 Achtung Baby Tour at Celtic Park, Glasgow. Immense.

ILM: Where do you get your inspirations?

Colin: See above, re plumbers. Or else from books, films, TV, newspapers. As long as I'm open I know It'll come to me. Oh, and people too. Anything that moves me or excites me I'll manipulate into a song. It stops you enjoying things on a simple level sometimes. I've lost count of the number of great films I've walked out of to sing an idea into my mobile phone. Scared I would lose it. Yep, films are one of the best actually. As Bob Dylan says, any form of motion helps, even if it's just putting one foot in front of the other.

ILM: What was the last thing that really made you laugh?

Colin: I watched Annie Hall again by Woody Allen recently.
