There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.

Paul Woolford chats to I Like Music

With an approach and attitude that is slightly different to most, Paul Woolford has established himself as one of the most original dj / producer / remixers that house music has exposed in recent times.

An avid buyer of vinyl since the age of 8 with a deep-seated passion for music, he is what you might call a vinyl junkie. The backdrop to all this has been the radio, which has been permanently switched on in the Woolford household.

I Like Music caught up with the very passionate Paul to chat about buying his first record, airports and writing great house tunes. We happen to think Paul Woolford is a bloody inspiring bloke, and a damn good fella to boot...

ilm: Just been reading your biography, which is cool. It say's you have been buying vinyl since you were 8 years old, and got your first set of decks when you were 12. Can you remember the very first record that you bought?

Paul: Yeh I can, it was the album Fantastic by Wham! [ilm and Paul laugh]
