I Like Music chats to Dom Cook, The Marketing Director of MySpace

In recent years MySpace has grown into much more than a social networking site. It has become a very prolific player in the music industry, with many bands and artists setting themselves up on the site and achieving sucess due to the global exposure it can offer them. In recent months the site has put itself at the heart of popular culture and self-expression with different projects and competitions allowing users to showcase their skills.

I Like Music caught up with Dom Cook, the Marketing Director of MySpace UK, to chat about the MySpace initiative and one of their current projects. An anonymous producer has partnered with MySpace in search of male and female singer-songwriters to form a unique vocal duo and record a new studio album of electronic music. The reason for his anonymity is to attract all types and styles of singers not led by his previous genres. He is looking for 'great, distinctive voices, people with an ear for melody, and singers able to both hold a tune and write a song'. An exciting project indeed...
