ILM: Yes. Images that initially have a very adverse affect on people, but then when you look past that, you begin to discover a deeper meaning. Which can be about yourself or the piece of art....
Esser: Yeah, absolutley. In the second one, the Headlock video, that was about me just being back at home in Chelmsford and having a party with a load of kids.
ILM: Ha! The complete opposite to the other one....What is your process of making music, do these ideas feed into that?
Esser: The thing about the album is that it was a real learing process for me. It was inspired by me just finding things and messing around. I just wanted to keep that process, keep things interesting. A lot of the ideas happened really instantly and in the moment. It was about trying to capture those ideas and instances. The idea of me having fun in the studio. The songs are all around three and half minutes. I want to keep that instant feeling. I wanted to keep the right bits and the wrong bits, me making mistakes as well. I approached every song on the album in a different way. For example, it could have started with a sample, some of them I start from a rhythm, or a chord progression. I try and do things differently every time.
