It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.

There is virtually nothing more satisfying than when a load of chords and words suddenly come together into a song ; suddenly everything in life seems to fit and make sense once more.
  • PatrickPatrick: ilikemusic because... Music came from the universe...always finding a way into societies from the beginning of time. I imagine it has always been out there waiting for us to show up. I'm so glad we made it!

Floetry chat to ilikemusic.com

Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart, who both attended the Brit school in Croydon, sold an amazing 700,000 copies in the US of their debut, which earned them six Grammy nominations.

Fresh from touring in the US with the The Roots, Queen Latifah, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, Floetry are back with their new album, Flo'Ology. I LIKE MUSIC caught up with the highly connected Floetry ladies to chat about music, songwriting for Michael Jackson and partying at Prince's house.

"I like music because… without it there would be no soundtrack to my life." MARSHA, FLOETRY

ilm: Your new Album, 'Flo'Ology' is out now. Can you give us your own personal description of the albums whole vibe?

Marsha: This album is a direct reflection of where we were in our lives as we recorded each "moment". There are 13 "moments" on the London release that were recorded over a span of about a year, because we were on the road and we wrote a song a day, so thats 13 days on an album.

ilm: The first single off the album is Superstar featuring Common. Can you tell us a bit about the track and how that collaboration came about?
