ILM: What is your earliest musical memory? When did you realise it was what you wanted to do?
Grandmaster Flash: Ohhh! My older sister saying to me 'Jo, you came outta Mommy with that inspiration.' I was born with that. You gotta realise that when I was first doing it, when I was a toddler, in my household it was forbidden to touch the stereo. It was forbidden to touch Dad's records. I used to get beat to the point where I was almost hospitalised. I had this love for DJing and records as a very, very young toddler. Probably....I don't know! A very long time! Well before I knew what I was doing, that's for sure. From DJing, to producing, just to be a part of music is such a wonderful thing.
